Powerful color sensors for versatile applications

Micro-Epsilon offers a unique product range of True Color sensors which are designed for different requirements. This is how almost all color measurements tasks can be solved with high precision across all industries. Four sensor types measure directly and diffuse reflecting surfaces of high-gloss, structured and metallic objects, as well as transparent materials.
These modern colorSENSOR CFO sensors measure the finest of color graduations on metals, plastics, glass and textiles. Their robust design, high quality glass fiber optics and compact design make these True Color sensors ideally suited to industrial applications. For measurements on demanding surfaces, a wide range of sensors is available.
The reflex sensor is used for directly reflecting surfaces. It determines the color of metals, plastic parts, coatings and packaging. Therefore, the sensor is used in parts recognition, sorting tasks, color inspections and presence monitoring.
The standard sensor is particularly well suited to high-gloss and diffuse reflecting surfaces, which is of special importance with color measurements of anti-reflection coatings or chrome colors.
The new CFS2-M11 and CFS2-M20 circular sensors from Micro-Epsilon accurately recognize the finest of color graduations, even on demanding, shiny metallic and structured surfaces. For stable and precise color recognition, the sensors uniformly illuminate the target in a circular manner, which enables them to recognize the exact shade of color. They are used, among other things, in the paper, textiles, plastics and automotive industries.
For transparent surfaces, Micro-Epsilon designed the transmission sensor. This is used for color measurements of films, glasses or semi-transparent liquids.
Modern interfaces output the precise results. Integration into bus environments is also possible. This is possible either directly via Modbus TCP/RTU or via an interconnected gateway for PROFINET or EtherNet/IP (Modbus RTU). The Modbus TCP and a corresponding gateway can also be used to integrate the colorSENSOR CFO into an EtherCAT environment.
