Compact laser triangulation sensors now even more versatile

2022-04-20

The new optoNCDT 1420LL sensors round off the sensor portfolio of the optoNCDT 1420 series. These extremely compact sensors can now be used on numerous surfaces, whether they are smooth, rough, diffuse or shiny metallic. The optoNCDT 1420 LL sensors have a small laser line instead of a point to generate an optical average, which largely compensates for changing surfaces. They achieve reliable, highly precise measurement values on rough surfaces, as well as defects, recesses and holes. The optoNCDT 1420 LL is available with measuring ranges of 10, 25 and 50 mm.

Additional protective film now available

The optoNCDT 1x20 can be equipped with a protective film. Normally the receiver unit is protected by a glass pane. However, in certain environments the prevailing external influences might damage this pane which causes undesired reflections. Therefore, a special protective film can be applied which avoids

Single-channel converter cable

Another useful accessory is the new IC2001/USB single-channel converter cable which connects the optoNCDT laser sensor to USB via the RS422 interface. It’s a low cost connection solution for permanent installation. The unshielded cable allows a maximum data rate of 1 MBaud. For demanding measurement tasks, the IF2001/USB interface module is available which also supports the RS422/USB signal conversion.
